About the Company: Wing is reshaping the future of delivery. We are an on-demand drone delivery service that can deliver food, medicine or other items within minutes. We’ve also developed an unmanned traffic management platform--a kind of air traffic control for unmanned aircraft--to safely route drones through the sky. Our service is faster, safer and produces far less pollution than traditional delivery. Originally created in 2012 within X, the Moonshot Factory, Wing is now an Alphabet company.

About the Role: As a member of Wing’s Policy and Government Affairs team reporting to the Australia Policy and Public Affairs Associate, you will support Wing’s engagement with local policymakers and community members.  In this role you will develop and execute a community outreach strategy in coordination with the AU policy, communications, marketing and operations teams. You will regularly engage with members of the community and policymakers and make recommendations on how we can provide a world class service for both our customers, and the larger communities in which Wing operates.

What you’ll do:

  • Engage with Electorate Officers from elected officials offices and keep them updated on Wing’s operations in the areas they represent.
  • Assist with development and implementation of a cross-functional strategy to engage with the local communities where we operate.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications team to help shape Wing’s narrative both locally and nationally.
  • Work to connect with the community by organising visits from  schools, STEM and Robotics clubs and other community stakeholders

What you'll need:

  • Team player with a sense of humor and the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing environment.
  • 3-5 years work experience in policy, public affairs or community engagement
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to travel

  • 1-3 years as an electorate officer in an Australian Member of Parliament’s office
  • Experience with community engagement around infrastructure projects
  • Experience in the technology or aviation sector
  • Excellent personal, political, analytical and organizational skills
